Whale Rock Lodge is one of the original, stately family homes in Hermanus. With its pure white exterior and heavy thatch roof, complimented by solid woodwork and surrounded by rolling lawns, Whale Rock exudes an welcoming atmosphere of comfort and warmth.

Within sight and smell of the sea, Whale Rock Lodge is the perfect base from which to explore the nearby cliff paths with their indigenous fauna and flora. These paths also offer a superb vantage point from which to view the basking whales just metres from the base of the cliffs. Whale Rock Lodge is within walking distance of the Hermanus town centre and the New Harbour with its well known restaurants and bar offering magnificent views of sunsets over Walker Bay. There are several safe bathing beaches nearby and opportunities for a wide variety of activities including shopping and sampling the fare in the many restaurants in Hermanus, golf,
horse riding, shark cage diving and visits to local vineyards in the Hemel & Aarde Valley.

Whale Rock Lodge offers 11 en suite comfortable and well appointed rooms - 3 with king-size beds and 2 with queen-size beds, 6 with three-quarter twin beds, 9 with bath and separate shower and 2 have a shower over
the bath. Guests can be assured of personal attention to their needs in an atmosphere of luxury, comfort and tranquillity.

All rooms are non-smoking and equipped with TV & MNet, fans, telephones, hairdryers, heaters, clock radios and electric blankets. Room service provides tea and coffee and each room has a sitting area and a separate entrance onto the garden. Our sitting room with its cosy fireplace has a well stocked honesty bar and a full English breakfast is served in the sun room overlooking the pool and ornamental koi pond.
